Natural Lipblush FAQ’s

  • The purpose of a natural lipblush is to enhance the natural color and shape of your lips. The goal is to achieve a subtle and natural looking tint and adding definition, fullness and a youthful flush of color. Colors can range from barely there shades to more vibrant hues, depending on your preference. It’s a polular choice for for those looking to save time on daily lip makeup application or wanting to improve the symmetry and overall appearance of their lips.

  • Expect your first treatment to take approximately 3 hours. The majority of the time is spent adequately consulting and selecting the appropriate color for your skin, measuring and mapping the planned procedure prior to actually implanting the color, and allowing for the application of topical anesthetics. Consents and aftercare instructions will be reviewed.

  • This treatment can lasts 2-4 years. It can be maintained with touch-up sessions. Each year the tattoo shade will get lighter and lighter. In some lip neutralizing cases the tattoo has lasted 2-7 years before entirely wearing out.

  • Yes, significantly. The early healing stage lasts for 3-5 days. Your color will be most vibrant immediately following your session and can fade up to 70% once healed. For best results, multiple sessions are required following your first treatment. Once we’ve achieved your goal, touch ups are required every 1-2 years.

  • Yes. I recommend waiting at least 3 weeks after your filler treatment or vise versa.

  • I use a compouned numbing cream. The pain level of having a lip blush treatment is very mild. On a scale of 1-10 most clients would rate it as a 2. Unlike the process of getting a traditional tattoo, lip blushing is done on the surface layers of the skin making it way less painful.

  • After the procedure lips will tend to be swollen chapped and dry. Avoid making any social plans the day of your treatment. Always keep your lip area clean and apply a moderate amount of aftercare ointment.

  • The swelling should completely subside after 4-6 hours. By day 3 or 4 yours lips will start to flake and peel. During this time, it is crucial to not pick and continue to moisturizing. Wash your lips with water or a fragrance-free cleanser then hydrate the area with ointment that will be provided to you.

  • Bring in photos you like or even your favorite lipsticks, this way I can get a better idea of what you’re aiming for. We will blend a pigment that will be the most flattering to your skin tone and the type of shade that you prefer. Choosing a perfect color will be a blend of your goals and my expertise based on my training and experience.

  • Yes. After the initial treatment lips will fade signfigantly. Color is better retained after a more sessions, this also gives us the opportunity ro re-address color and touch up any imperfections. Your lips will last longer and appear perfectly stained after you multiple sessions. Remember, this is not a traditional tattoo. Lip tissue is different and more unpredicatble.

  • No makeup should be worn on the lips immediately after. The skin must be healed first which takes approx 2-5 days after the treatment.

  • Yes. In a subtle manner of course. Before your treatment we will draw the lip template, making the lips more even in shape and as full as possible. My goal is to always enhance your shape. I can properly shape the lips in a way that makes them look larger in the most believable way. This treatment leaves the lips looking fuller, more youthful and without the need of lipstick.

  • Six weeks of healing time after each session is required in order to see the final color outcome.

  • Here are three important pre-treatment steps to remember for a lip blush procedure:

    1) Clean and Hydrated Lips: Arrive with your lips clean and well-moisturized. This helps in achieving even color application.

    2) Avoid Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol at least three days before your appointment to minimize any potential bleeding or swelling.

    3) Cold Sore Prevention: If you have a history of cold sores, obtain a prescription for Valtrex and start taking it one day before your appointment to prevent outbreaks.
